Smart Content not working-resolved

WildlyfeWildlyfe Posts: 92

All of a sudden, I can't get the smart content tab to work. That is, what I select in the scene doesn't show up as being selected in the smart content tab, and therefore no content.  I should also say that I just recently upgraded to 4.9 from 4.8.  I am having to redo a lot of the content.  Lost a lot of metadata in the process.

Were you still using the Valentina database? Are you getting a PostgreSQL error when you start DS 4.9?

Not sure if I am still using the Valentina database.  I am not getting any errors.  It was working fine until just this last week.

If you were still using Valentina (and didn't isntall PostgreSQL at the same time as DS 4.() you'd get an alert on start up. Do you have any entries under Categories or Products in the Content Library pane?

Yes, all my entries are there.  I can add new items to the database.  Everything works as it should, except that in the smart content pane, it does not show any selected item and therefore no content associated with the figure selected in the scene.

Please post a screenshot of the Smart Content pane.

Genesis is selected, but as you can see (circled in red) it is not showing up as selected in the smart content pane, and the items in the pane are default items and not associated with Genesis.

The head is selected, but that shouldn't matter. If you find Genesis itself (the file you loaded from) in a content pane does it have the correct tags (Actor at top-right)?

Yep.  It is labeled as Actor.  Scene ID is correct.  Figure is declared correctly.  It doesn't matter what figure is selected, they are all not showing as selected in the content pane.

At the bottom of the Smart Content pane, you need to enable the "Filter by Context" box. You should then see No Selection changed to the selected model in the scene tab.

Not having Filter by Selection on will (should) show all content.

Thank you!  Enabled the "Filter by Context" box and it works again.  I had no idea there even was a box.

I checked the "Filter by Context", but still not showing the right content. It started when I updated from 4.8 to 4.9... It was a while ago, but haven't used DAZ since then. Now I have more time for it, and it's really annoying...

Please make sure you use Smooth Shaded preview mode if your scene has nude figures when uploading a screen shot.

That looks to be an older version of DS - Filter By Context has been Filter By Selection for a while. Sorry, had that the wrong way around - Filter by Context is the current label.

Were you using Valentina in DS 4.8? Is it showing the wrong content or no content?

I fixed this by changing from the "products" tab to the "files" tab and then it showed them correctly
