I want to make sure I have all of the same Daz content on my laptop as I do on my desktop. Can I transfer the whole DAZ 3D folder in my documents folder on one computer and replace the the whole DAZ 3D folder on the other computer. Something like this

Change this

/Users/computer-a/Documents/DAZ 3D

/Users/computer-b/Documents/DAZ 3D

To this

/Users/computer-a/Documents/DAZ 3D

/Users/computer-b/Documents/DAZ 3D

Yes, but you will also need the CMS Database from A on B If you have done any Catagories or Custom saves such as Poses. Or the custom saves will default back to the DEFAULT folder again.

On your Main PC, the one you wish to copy from, Find your CMS folder it has the Database for your content in it. Copy just the Database on your move content from PC, then find the CMS folder and AFTER installing the content (copying the Content from the other PC to it) replace it's Database with your full Database from the first PC, the too PC. If you do not USE Smart Content you can just ignore this information.

Do you have Smart Content? If you do I'll ask the MAC guy to visit and help you. I'm a Win7 person, so I don't know that answer. If you only use the Content Library tab for content just move your Content folder. You'l be just fine.

Not quite worthy of a new topic, but...

I need to free up space on my C: drive. I have two terabyte external drives attached to this machine with plenty of space on either for several copies of my content.

However, the process of moving content seems fraught, to say the least. The documentation is far from clear and posts here seem to advise either contradictory solutions or counsel despair.

Am I best to uninstall all of my content from the C: drive (delete the nominated folder as shown in DIM settings) and reinstall (I'm on cable, so re-downloading would be relatively painless), having nominated, say F:\DAZ_Content\ in DIM installation settings?

Now. How to do that last? It appears to me that, I should simply type the phrase Recommended DAZ Studio/Poser content folder in the "label" window and browse to F:\DAZ_Content (having previously created that folder), correct?

How do I connect DAZ Studio and Poser to these folders?
