Dynamic Clothing Plugin again (resolved)
Okay, I know there are more topics with this subject but they didn't help.
I've purchased DCC in the times of Daz 3 and it got forgotten for a while but yesterday I decided to use it again. Looking at my DCC tab I recognized that I don't have any vital options because it's the basic version of Daz 4.5 Pro.
Now, I do have a newer Download but everybody here says I shouldn't install it. Because typing in the serial would be enough.
And there is my problem. Typing in WHERE? Yes, under the installed plugins menu but I don't have an option to type in a serial for DCC. The only things with a line for it are the decimator and I think animate XY something.
I stumbled upon a text which said you should first deinstall the basic DCC. I think the text was in the upgrade installer which I of course installed and the DCC was gone. I looked in the forum, removed it, reinstalled Daz 4.5 to get back to the original state etc. And then I wanted to try the serial way which looks impossible.
How do I deinstall the basic DCC of Daz 4.5? I don't even installed it so how can I remove it? And why can't I type in the serial for the DCC? Is there a menu button I've missed?

You don't need to de-install anything.
You need to reset your purchased for Dynamic Clothing Control to get the updated installer for DS4.5. The current installer that goes with DS4.5.1.56 has DS4_DynamicClothingControl_1.2.1.56 in the name. Download and install the Win64 or Win32 version that matches your DS4.5.1.56 install. That will install the plugin so you can apply the DCC serial number. My serial number is labeled for 3.x in my account, but it works in DS4.5.
Gaaahh, it's again a version problem. A newer version of the old new version!!! Keeping track of the versions of Daz Studio is a real pain in the xxx for somebody who is not in the forums on a daily basis. Thanks. I will look for the installer but for future troubles... is there a QUICK way to find out, what version is currently the newest official version of versions? Because if my update notifier says there is a new version 4.5.1.56 and I am running 4.5.1.6 than I am a little bit confused why .56 should be newer than .60.
No, I've reseted yesterday my download for DCC and reseted half an hour ago the download for DazStudio. But I don't get the long name version.
I'm on a PC and just reset the Dynamic Clothing Control in my itemized history. The filename PC installer for the Win64 version is shown picture below. What is the DCC installer filename you are downloading?
re: current version of DS4, I check the sticky threads in the Commons forum. The current production version is DS4.5.1.56. where .56 is higher than .6, btw...
Sorry, I think I confused something about "in the name" which sounded like the DazStudio installer has this phrase in its name. But actually I had to install the newer Version of Daz, then the plugin and then I could type in the serial. But I had to actually install the plugin to make it work so the information about not installing it is may be outdated.
For the version counting... it's just too easy to look at them as decimal numbers as non programmer. ;P
@Cyprith
I have already posted to the other thread you posted to. You DO NOT need to download the DCC plugin to get the full version. All you need to do is to enter the serial number in Help > About Installed Plugins when you have bought the Advanced version. Only the serial number is different, whe whole plugin is there.
Please don't post to multiple threads about the same aubject as it confuses the issue.
But there was no option to enter the serial until I've installed the plugin.
Or to be precisely. The plugin added a new dll and modified another in the plugins folder. The problem with my old Daz was, that these dlls don't work with it. With the new version the dlls work and the line to enter the serial number showed up. And it worked. I've run a simulation five minutes ago with wind. No problem.
And sorry about the double post. I was to desperate to think straight.
The DCC plug-in is not included in DS4.5 Pro. Just the basic controls.
What you download is DS4.5 it is the Standard version, it is the serial number that makes it the Pro version. The same thing applied to the DCC, and unless it has been changed fairly recently, that still applies. All that is required is to enter the Serial number for the paid for version to unlock the other features.
I will check to see if that is the case now or not.
Think about it, why should there be a plugin download if everything is already implemented in 4.5? And it's a download especially for 4.5 not for the other versions. And I really tried your way but in my version there was no way to enter the serial for the DCC. I only had the dzoptitexclothbasic.dll and no line to type in a serial. The plugin changed this file into dzoptitexclothcontrol.dll (or it probably deletes the basic.dll and put in the control.dll because I secured the basic.dll in another folder and got a new control.dll) and for that I could type in the serial. But this dll wasn't there until I installed the plugin.
I think they have changed it otherwise the plugin download would be nonsense.
I think you are right, sorry for giving you the wrong info.
It appears that you now have to download and install the DCC plugin that was supplied along with the main DS installer, to get the Advanced features. Then you should enter the serial number in the box in Help > About Installed plugins. You may not need to do this last step, if you have already been using it in a previous version.
No problem. And sorry for my own chaos. :-)
