Shadows onto the ground

BeemBeem Posts: 95

I have problems with shadows cast by an item onto the ground.

This is how i did.

Render settings - Editor - Environment - Ground shadow intensity

I sett the value to 0,00. The i go to the "wheel" to the right of the text Ground shadow intensity and lock - lock.

Then Render - render.

Save last render  and no shadow appears when i save the image.

So far so good.

Next time i open Daz and make a figure the shadow is back. What is done wrong by me ?

There's an option in Edit-Preferences for saving the render settings with the scene.

This is my settings. Is this what you mean or....?

Edit - Preferences - Scene - Render settings - Record when saving a scene file

That's it. Unless you're doing something to reset it, your render settings including ground shadow on/off should be kept.

There is no button ground shadow on /off.

There is a button Draw ground on / off. Is this the button you mean.

Yes, Draw ground on/off, on will cast shadow, ground shadow intensity can be adjusted, off will not cast any shadow smiley

If you have default settings that you use all the time then it is worth saving it as a scene and loading it as the default sce

Hi friend, what Fishtales is sharing is just save your settings as a scene.  Go to File > Save as > Scene.  Then you can use whatever settings over and over again.  Example, create 3 point light system, save it, then you can use many times as you wish, without recreating the lighting scene smiley

Open studio and go to Render Settings and put in the settings you always use; Save As/Scene/_default-scene (or whatever you want to call it :) )

Go to Edit/Preferences/Startup/Load File and brows to where the _default-scene file is and select it. Go to the bottom and Accept. Close Studio and restart it and it will load your _default-scene with all your preferred settings already set up. You can of course change any of them scene by scene after that and those settings will be saved to the specific scene but loading a New Scene or restarting Studio will load the _default-scene again with your default settings.
