Am I missing something?

I'm unsure of what I am missing. I've put hours and detail into my renders, but not a single one gets a like. Am I missing something valuable? or is my art just not "there" yet? I'm losing my motive to post renders when I put the hours in and get little likes. Can anyone encourage me?

If you are rendering and posting for likes then stop rendering. If you are rendering because you enjoy doing it then carry on. I get very few likes for most of my renders but it doesn't stop me rendering and posting :) If you are looking for some criticism then post them in your own thread either in New User or Art Studio and ask people to comment. Whatever you do don't despair and don't stop rendering.

If you really want some input and advice you should join in the New Users contest threads.  We have a complete forum dedicated to teaching new users how to get the best out of their software
    https://www.daz3d.com/forums/categories/new-user-contests-and-events

And you could win some store credits while you are joining in.  Each month features a different area of the software, with monts in between for general renders,  and it is all good fun, as the CVs try to guide you, and every one joins in with comments and advice.

We all want to have fans, dont we ?

To have a render buddy would be a good start after all.

And basicaly I go with Fishtales ;)

  • I suppose I was looking at it all wrong. I do enjoy my renders, and I do enjoy being creative. I'd just like a comment here and there stating what people think of the idea. My reason for renders is to get my creative ideas out to the world and see if its a yea or nah. If people say its a good idea, I will continue to work on the concept of it and eventually try to form said concepts and ideas into maybe a game? Might take years, but if the people love it, who am I to argue?

I still say use the New Users forum and get some good, and credible feedback,   It is what the NU Contest forum and the New User help forum do best,   Teach,  it's edutainment.

Instead of posting straight to the Gallery you can post an image into the NU forum and ask for feedback.

Or go to the NU Conteset forum and join in one of the Contests. We have a new one start the 1st of every month. If you take a look at the latest WIP thread you will see how not only do the CVs try to guide, all those taking part will comment on each others images as well.   https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/159751/april-2017-daz-3d-new-user-challenge-open-render-challenge/p1
