I happened upon this article with an interesting video. At first it looks like it is just about books, but interesting parts start at 5:43, and around 7:20 that is clearly Aiko, followed by other well known 3D figures.... It is not clear what kind of software he is using but if he is cheap, I would bet on DAZ studio.
