Daz studio not releasing gpu memory

This started in the last three days. There is an error that prevents daz from releasing the gpu memory. So after doing a test render or two the memory can be 95 percent full and then Iray won't use the gpu anymore. The only solution I know of is to close studio and the memory is released. I guess I need a solution that prevents the memory issue or a way to clear the nvidia 1050ti ram without closing Daz.
p.s. currently it's not possible for me to restart daz remotely, so that just isn't an option. I have posted a separate question about that.
Here is the error message I think points to the problem:
2017-03-29 17:55:13.387 WARNING: dzneuraymgr.cpp(307): Iray ERROR - module:category(IRAY:RENDER): 1.9 IRAY rend error: CUDA device 0 (GeForce GTX 1050 Ti): an illegal memory access was encountered (while de-allocating memory)

As you may know, D|S will hold on to the memory if you keep a render window open (even one that didn't complete, but you stopped), or if there's an active NVIDIA setting in a viewport. Are you saying neither of these is the case?
The error message you posted certainly does sound like an issue with memory, and is possible a bug with the new drivers. Be sure you're using the latest just in case.
This problem remains even when both the main view and the Aux are set to lit wireframe and all render windows are closed. I have also clicked new scene to start "fresh", in the blind hope that would work, but the problem persists.
I'm going to do a test with v4 in iray and see if it happens with that figure. If it is asset related will have to try each thing separately, I guess, to find the culprit.
It would be great if there is a way to force release the memory without crashing Daz.
This problem still persists. It ususally seems to happen after I have done several renders that nearly max out the gpu memory. My fix at this point is to restart daz.
OK, this clears up my fears over my (remaining) sanity. I'd noticed the same thing a couple of nights ago: I'd render a couple of scenes with the GPU, and then iRay would start CPU-only renders until I restarted Studio.
And what version of Daz Studio are you using? Mine is 4.9.4.117.
I've had this strange rendering problem that came out of nowhere. Been using Daz Studio for months and have never experienced it before.
After 5 minutes of rendering or so, it looks like DS tries to reload a texture and it crashes. That has never happened before. I have 8 GB of GPU RAM, and everything was loaded before rendering started, so why is Daz Studio reloading my texture in the middle of rendering? Crazy.
I'm using the latest official release, but I'm considering try the latest beta even though my issue isn't listed as fixed.
Look to see if you have any "Render" windows open, somtimes they lose focus under Daz studio. I have had it in the past, it all starts chugging before I realise I have 5 or 6 test renders that I didn't close.
I personally don't have the ram to spare to keep that many render windows open if I want to use my gpu. Back when I could only do cpu I might sometimes keep one open.
These days I don't even use iray in my view ports, and I still have the problem. I'm working on a clean installing windows 10 with fresh drivers and programs. Maybe it is a system problem not a daz problem.
