Yes, Unity is free and it's a game engine, an animation engine, and when they add the Otoy Octane Renderer to Unity this year it will be a renderer on par with nVidia iRay too.
just search for Unity 3D in the search engine of your preference...
Objectively, if you decide to use Unity's better animation & physics engine than what DAZ animate2/keymate/graphmate or carrara 8.5 pro offer then you need to teach yourself how to export DAZ characters and models for use in Unity.
For that you need only search on YouTube
You are perfectly free to choose to use Mixamo Fuse characters to animate in Unity as well. They being completely free they'd be a cheap what to learn to animate in Unity. Search for Mixamo Fuse & then download & install. Learn via YouTube search & Adobe Mixamo site.

Whew!!
Sounds like a lot of work but then these things are right??
Comments
Daz is fun to work with for animation, all it takes is a creative mind. . unfortunately I can't give ou any opinion on Mixamo I never used it
The 4GB of Miximo animations out there don't work with DAZ characters.
well not out the box I agreee.
OP can export to Unity and then retarget the Mixamo animations to the DAZ FBXes imported into Unity
Ummm....What's Unity??
I know I sound stupid...
It's some sort of game engine, so really no too sure what it has to do with animation. But of course I do neither animation nor games
OK. So is Unity something one can use for free to get the DAZ characters to animate vis Mixamo I guess is my next question...??

Thanx SO much for the info!!
another way is to find something that loads FBX and exports BVH
but
you need to rename the bones
and Genesis 3 is hopeless for importing BVH so using an earlier figure then an animation conversion script in D|S the better way.
I use iClone 3Dxchange pipeline to do this btw but there is other software including Unity.
Thanx for ALL the Help guys/Gals!!
It's not too difficult to use Mixamo with Daz. Firewarden wrote a tutorial mentioned here:
