Gallerie Bastion help with light set please

edited March 2017 in New Users

[Gallerie Bastion help with light set please] I have attached two images. The first image have the light set on and the second is what I have. I can't make it work. I click on the light preset but it makes it more darker. How can I make it work?

Thanks

    What render engine?

  • I'm sorry. I forgot that. I'm using iray

  • I have tried with all the options of environment mode too

Are you using the Iray version? It has been updated to have one, I guess as a separate pre-load. The lights are in the scene as loaded - don't use the Poser lights as they won't work at all well 9that's a pretty general rule).

Did you make sure you are using the Iray version?  I haven't used it since it got the Iray update back in November so I'm not sure if the emissions are all set but @FirstBastion usually does a top notch job of having plug and play sets so I'm thinking he did with that Iray update.  I can't load the set up and do test render at the moment as I have something rendering.  However, I'll take a quick look when that render is done if you haven't figured it out by then.

  • Thanks for all the answers. Yes, I'm using the iray version. Please, take a look at the images I attached. The environment have three light options but I can't make any of those work.

Those are the Poser lights and cameras - they don't work in DS. There should, by the description, be lights already in the scene when you load it - use those.

The Daz Studio Iray version is ready to render you don't have to add additional lights. The default Iray dome should cast light into through the skylight.

Based on your images, the poser version is the lost and found ones,  that's in the traditional Poser runtime side of things.

The Iray version is on the DazStudio side -  Library/Environments/FirstBastion/

If the Iray scene isn't giving you the lighting:

    • make sure yu are opening it, not merging it with an existing scene
    • make sure you don't have Ignore When Opening a Sceen File checked under Render Settings in Edit>Preferences>Scene tab (Daz Studio>Preferecnes>Scene tab on a Mac).
  • Hi. Thanks for the answers. I still can't make it work T_T

I have attached the steps of what I do and what are the settings I have on.
