Yea, I was going to start right after I finish the new TR, but the new Croft adventure has a LOT of puzzles, which makes things slower. I'll be back in 2019, lol
Thank you! I'm trying to copy what I see but my reference photo is horrible. It's okay though, I'm figuring it out. I want her to have the wrinkles in the right places, but I don't want her to look like she slept in her clothes. I think I'll add a few wrinkles around the elbows, maybe not. Her belt is tricky, to make it look the same as she does in the game, that belt needs to swing to one side or the other. In the real world it would hang down. So to make it look like her I'm going to make it fastend to the side, or tied, or add a belt loop. Might even split it and have it going over both sides. I might need to puff the shoulders out a bit more on the dress. I'm undecided on the wrinkles, I can make them stronger, and add more. I'm thinking I like it the way it is though, just a little more work on the shoulders and elbows, maybe even the underarm armpit area.
Thank you, I can work off those images. This will be fun!
Maybe these are useful....

Perfect! Thank you! Looks like I might be making a full body morph too. Might even try hair. I can handle all the modeling and rigging, packing it up. Not looking forward to textures and surface settings, if someone is interested in jumping in here let me know.
I'm thinking about dForce now; the dress looks like it may work with it quite nicely, then you wouldn't need sculpted wrinkles.
So do you plan to make it a separate item or part of the dress?
You could simply set up a tiled fabric material; your modeling is good enough not to require any artificial paint-in jobs on the textures.
I think if you can make it so that the dress has 3 or 4 material zones (main dress+sleeves, belt/sash, lower front part, buckle/ornament if the last is modeled separately), it should be relatively easy for the user to add his/her own fabric shaders. (Only the buckle might be needing a texture, if the decoration is not modeled. Unfortunately, and depending on the uv-mapping, I'm probably only capable of making such a texture for my own use, as it would NOT be made from scratch..)
Hmm, just finished chapter II and the intro to III. Triss mentions an invitation to a party by Adda, guess that's the one.....
Kettu, hello. Yes The belt is a seperate part of the dress. Then belt is made up of four parts. I decided to go with a priestess look on the belt, the way her belt hangs over to one side, works for a low poly game model but to keep her looking the same it needed a workaround, this was all I could come up with. The belt going around the wast is one piece, then buckle is another, and answering a question for glaseye the buckle is sculpted. the parts that hang down are two seperate parts. The dress needs a few more tweaks, I got the shoulders pulled up a bit too far now, need to push them back down and I might pull the wrinkles in the train of the dress out a bit further? Undecided. Thing about wrinkles, if you are watching a movie, tv show, etc. the actors clothes are usualy clean, wrinkle free, pressed; they want to look their best. Painting them on a low poly model makes sense, gives a bit of fake depth. Here in the land of happy rendering, you want a few creases and wrinkles for added realisim but you don't want the person looking like they waded up their clothes and slept in them. No creases or wrinkles here in the world of renders, and the model may as well be wearing a soda can. Finding that balanceing point is not easy. As far as setting up the material zones so the sleeves are seperate That is easy. I now have seven models near complete, just a few tweaks here and there, the models are meant to be used with sub D and the UV's are finished. All that's left to model is her gloves, Boots, and Sword, a few tweaks to the face morph and I will make her a whole body morph. I'm thinking about a makeup option too. Do you all have any suggestions or requests for this project?
a few more
UV's
Saving room for boots, Gloves and sword. I prefer the UV's all on one page, easier to texture.
Sculpted, that's nice, probably can do with just a metal shader. As for suggestions, it's already a dazzling number you have implemented or planned to implement. Just forgot one question before. For which DS model are you making this? G8F, G3F or other?
As for dForce as mentioned by Mustakettu85, well separate items are most likely to 'fall' when simulating.... (I'm not familiair enough with all the terms used in modelling, but the various parts would have to be connected (welded???) together).
I've invested verrrrry little in G8F.....
Hi there =) Well that depends on the movie/show, y'know =)
One more reason to used tiled textures, since otherwise you'd need to go 8K for the texture to survive anything remotely resembling a closeup.
The way I understand the costume, there's an underskirt and an overdress; each of them can be simulated separately. Moreover, in the RGincy's dForce thread there is an explanation how to use polylines to create "virtual stitches".
Stockings may be problematic to dForce because of the modelled seam - it looks awesome, but dForce is known to choke on closely packed vertices at times. Though a weight map could probably alleviate that, in theory.
The belt and panties don't really require dForce.
the plays the thing
playing the play quest different this time.
i didn't go with Priscilla's first idea.
picked the doppler urchin play
always went with the comedy, doing the drama this time
casting, seemed rude not to offer Irina the pricess part, she looked disappointed that I picked Priscilla
for the prince, i've always picked the safe actor, picked the risky drunkard actor this time.
ooo stage fright. geralt needs to learn his lines
i ended up doing the menge quest the same.
i ask about the treasure. then i give up the masquerade, ko everyone, Triss burns the place down.
dunno if there an option to not ko menge?
everytime i ko w.jr
Some Triss Merigold fanart...based on her book description:
Ooh, cool! Is that traditional or digital painting?
Thanks! Digital using DAZ render as reference.
That looks quite good indeed.....
Nope, he get's it, one way or another.... (You let Triss burn down the place all by herself and let her have all that fun alone.... not me.. I'll set fire to it also.... )
I did let jr. live in one playthrough, obviously that will get you a different scenario with Ciri later.....
still hoping to get the empress ending for Ciri.
asking menge about the treasure gave an option to ask Djkstra for help with the ambush.
the play ended unexpectedly. gave me less than 10 xp points >.<
the actor was sotted, doh
i'm not there yet, but has anyone chose to side with Djkstra against Vernon?
dunno why i feel loyal to Vernon. i mean, he was going to let those villagers die. if it wasnt for Ves ...
Well, in W2, I choose Vernon's path. so I guess I'm more likely to take his side anyway; and as of yet have never taken Sigi's side...... don't know, something about him and his past prevents me from liking him....
Apparently, for the pc there is a mod available thet - more or less - enables you the go for a 3rd option in which Dijkstra still takes power, but without killing Vernon and Ves. Haven't tried that....
Ciri as empress, spoiler warning - after the battle at Kaer Morhen, take Ciri to meet her father.......,,,......
And did Dijkstra help with the ambush? Depending on the choices you made during the conversation with Menge, Dijkstra might aid you with the ambush and with preparing for the battle at kaer Morhen...
we discussed his soft spot for geralt. he's lending 3 men. there was an option to ask for more, but i hesitated be greeting.
i joined with cleaver's men to invade the arenaa. was fun. they did most of the ko'ing before we got there. me and geralt just collected the loot. muwahahah
the quest to start blood and wine is supposed to open with the 'poet' quest. can lvl 16 be enough to defeat the giant.
tee hee earned a 1,000 xp for the 'poetic justice' quest.
it gave me a message blood and wine was available as soon as the complete 'ta da' sounded.
hit lvl18, put on the enhanced griffin gear ... it not a sexi armor.
found the feline silver sword on the 'redania's most wanted' quest.
ran back right away to have it crafted. me and geralt sliced thru those drowners.
using a relic steel sword, 3 rune slots
need 1 more red mutagen to make a greater red.
next ability point can start the whirl fast attack. he's fast, he's lethal.
freya armor is my favorite, makes him look comfie.
i can't remember how to start the next Tris quest. did the party. kicked gwent butt.
cute video,
Celebrating the 10th anniversary of The Witcher

I didn't realize how popular the Witcher books and computer games are. Wow. Thanks for sharing.
