Optimizing scene tricks

Are there any tricks to optimize a scene to reduce the amount of memory it takes? Is there perhaps a way to identify items not in the camera view so they can be deleted or something like that?

  • Sculptris has a reduce funtion you could try making lower poly versions of some of the more static props; you'll have to verify you uv maps.

    If a camera gets slow in a crowded scene, like my clubz set, I very often just pose a subset of the scene to get the camera angles right. Then try those setting in the full scene.
