Daz Axial Rotation Dilemma

Ok. This is a little odd. I have been playing around with Daz for a couple of years and have not seen this before. I have two parts I imported into Daz that I sculpted in Blender. They are an upper and lower handguard for a rifle I am working on. They match up perfectly. I rotate the lower 180 degrees on the Y axis and it lines up perfectly under the upper as it has symmetry on this plane. I rotate the upper 180 degrees on the Y axis and it does not line up at all. It appears to be translated slightly and not just rotating. If I continue the rotation to 360 degrees it corrects itself and lines up once more. In the past I have rotated these parts and this did not happen.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

Sig.

Is the top part asymmetrical? If so its bounding box may be offset to compensate, and the centre point is placed in the middle of the bounding box so it will in its turn be offset.

Thank you Richard. That makes sense. The upper handguard is symmetrical except for the sling hook attachment on the left side. I did not think it would be significant enough to throw off the symmetry but I guess it is. I tried to include a picture but it would not upload for some reason.

It seems to rotate ok when parented to the lower handguard so I guess it will not be a problem.

Thank you again for all the help you have provided to me and others on the forum.
