Focal Length and exaggerated perspective

Playing with this camera setting. Trying to get one of those camera above, figure below and the head is massive and the feet are tiny.

Lowering the Focal Length has no effect on the render. Made a new camera from perspective view, by the way.

I'm doing something wrong, not sure what it is though....

AND is there any way to show what the lens is doing and how the scene is warping BEFORE I render?

I guessing on numbers and rendering in poor quality to test the changes.

Looks like I'm rendering and editing the wrong camera.
