SLi with Nivdia cards?

Hi there, 

I have a technical question, I hope this is not a silly question, but if I have two Graphics cards (like say 2 GTX 1080s) do they have to be setup for SLi?

    Not for Iray rendering. Iray/CUDA cannot use SLI - thats strictly for gaming. Iray will use both cards without the need for SLI, just ensure that they are both identified.

    It can work with SLI; Nvidia recommend not using it as it can also cause problems. I don't recall seeing what the said problems might be.
