step by step using example image forum member Light of Heaven
next steps
to add textures, need to browse and add in diffuse, uses V4 uv mapping so load a V4 based material preset first for inner mouth etc
fix face texture as smile puts teeth on lips add hair and a nice eye texture from content, (better than using facegen one)
to save save as scene, character or material preset
all load as .duf in Carrara 8.5 Beta but character preset works best with clothes autofitted there save the shader in Carrara as shown below
some silly Carrara renders
Gotta love Genesis's morphing abilities %-P

some random forumites, lesson, do not post your photo here, I will grab it
moar
even cartoons can be facegened
Actually the best ref photo to use is a neutral pose. Eg no smiling. Then after the transfer you can give your character a smile in facegen and export/import as a morph. You get more accurate results that way.
ok if you can get one
lots of unsmiling ones free to use here
I look creepy. lol
thx to LOH for some front and profile pics
lol. I never realized my face was THAT bony. :D Still looks good.
I will try to do you dressed as Squall Leonhart by the end of the week as I reckon you would suit the character,
I am unfamilliar with Kingdom Hearts and gaming and stuff so it will only be my take on web images using Daz clothes.
will try to do hot female companions too.

your cosplay video is up Light of Heaven, enjoy!

Hi.
Melmeister here.
Thank you for the excellent tutorial and samples. Great work.
The problem I have is that Facegen doesn't show up in Daz.
I am wondering if maybe I missed a step in the install of Facegen or Exporter. (I've uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times).
If possible, could you give steps to your install process, as I can't seem to find a solution elsewhere.
Daz 4.6, Win 7 (64). FaceGen and full version of Exporter 1.8.
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.
P.S.
Is that your channel on youtube as "madcatlady"?
Very good tutorial.
if paths are set up correct the morphs should show under head universal facegen in parameters
textures you need to add manually under surfaces in diffuse, uses V4 UV
Thanks for your response Wendy. It seems that it is showing up only in the latest beta version of DS4. I guess I'll be using the beta.
Thanks again.
Melmeister
How do I install Facegen? Just got it in a sale, but the download page only includes an MSI file. The product page refers to documentation, but I don't see any.
@WendyLucsCatz
DAZ DIM I cannot really help because I bought mine frome Singular Inversions
I only have the one for Genesis 1&2 which is fine for Carrara
it is an msi installer though, just run it and install it
there is documentation on their site
