Installation Issues and File Does Not Exist Error

Hello,
I've been trying to install my content onto my external. I thought I had finally figured it out, but now I am encountering a different problem. When trying to load Genesis (or any other figure for that matter) I receive this message- Could not open file : /People/Genesis/Genesis.duf File does not exist. Now, I am able to browse to the location and verify that it certainly does exist and I am also able to right click and open with Daz Studio and it will load that way. To back track, when I was having issues with installing my content to the external what would happen was it would say there was missing content that needed to be installed. It then went on to update tons of files, make a new directory in C:Users/f/Documents/DAZ 3DStudio/My Daz Connect Library/data/cloud/1_14812 (I'm not sure what that is) and mostly everything loaded fine so I thought all was well. I tried to use a texture from a character and it didn't load correctly. So, I tried a reinstallation and this is where I am now. I have uninstalled everything so I can start over, but before I do what am I doing wrong? (Just as a side note, I did tell the installer where to load content, and add the database in Daz as well.) Any help at all would be appreciated and I thank you for your time.

How are you installing - Connect (that is, from Smart Content or the Isntall pane in DS) or Install Manager? It sounds as if you were using Connect at some point - hence the /Data/Cloud location - in which case, if you didn't explicitly uninstall through Connect, DS will continue to look for those files in the Connect location even if you install through DIM.
After reading this, it seems like what happened was I installed some files through Connect (didn't know that was what I was doing, I was just under the impression I needed to do whatever the program needed me to.) It said there were missing files that needed to be downloaded so I let it do that. I have completely uninstalled/deleted every folder related to Daz yesterday. I'll try again and update if I still have issues. Thank you so much for responding.
I have a some quick questions, why did Daz say the files were missing after they had been installed anyway? Was it something I did? How can I avoid downloading files through Connect? When I opted to skip it the first time, Genesis loaded as a box. That was why I heeded the message the second time around and let it do its thing.
In Studio open the Content Directory Manager and be sure the directory you had DIM install to is listed under Studio and Poser formats.
Righty-o, will do! Thank you.
Everything is fine now! Thank you and have a great weekend!
