Genesis Supersuit - how to apply shaping?

Hey, can anybody shed any light on how to apply the shapings to the Genesis Supersuit? I've selected the supersuit in the scene tab, double clicked on the apply shaping, but nothing. I've then clicked onto the shaping tab and made sure that the shaping options are selected, double clicked and nothing happened. I've dragged and dropped to apply it to the supersuit, but again nothing....

Can anybody tell me where I've been going wrong.

Thank you in advance :)

from the list I chose basicsuit, but how would i tell whether its high or low resolution?

  • yes basic is the low rez version you need to load the other one for shaping it has more polygons and morph areas

Thank you. I didn't notice the preset for super and basic. I've now taken off the basic and replaced it with the super one. I was surprised at how many surfaces there were, though! I'm just wondering now how I could create a texture for it (!?)

Right click on one of the textures that comes with it and choose browse to file location.  Once you know where it is you can go into Photoshop or Gimp and apply a different texture. Just make sure that you save the original as the original and the new one with a different file name.

Or you can apply any premade shaders by choosing the section of the suit you want to change, selecting the surfaces tab, selecting the section of the suit you want again in the drop down of the shader section and the apply the shader of your choice.

I may be wrong and would have to load the scene up again to check this out, but I couldn't actually find any textures, they were just different diffuse colors.

I don't think the suit comes with any 'textures' it was really designed for use with shaders, there are some sets that use textures the Mardi Gras set possibly does (sorry don't have that set), and some in the Trooper set do.

  • there are detailed textures for paladin etc but OMG its a PITA

I actually went to the trouble of merging the surfaces that shared UV mapping with the geometry editor tools window and surface selector and saved a new support asset it annoyed me so much, so could keep morphing without all the riddiculous domains, I still have original when needed to make say bikinis and stuff,

BTW its also a handy smoothing collision undersuit hidden for fixing clothes.
