Rotation Controls in DAZ4.5

Morning to All

If I may..............a question please.

When I want to Reposition an item like a Plant in a Scene...................or
the Wings on an Angel or a Sword in hand or Hair.........I use the Pose Tab and the Translate or the Rotate
controls............Is there any way to Reduce the Rotational Point???........it seems as if
the object in question is on a Pivot point somewhere way off the page...........it
takes forever to rotate and then translate and then rotate and so on.........I can accept the fact
that "Auto Fit To" has issues ...............and so I enjoy setting up items Manually in a Scene
but when I want to try several layouts or POV's of a Scene.........it literally is
disheartening...........it can take hours to reposition an item because it seems like
the pivot point is way off the page and this causes the item to literally move off
the page many times.

Sorry for the long winded description but I have not let this bother me for years
.........I just thought..........that's the way it is.

But I am wanting to do a Scene in less time and feel compelled to ask for
help.

I have been using this Software for several years now.......but in no way
do I consider myself highly proficient.............I find it an Awesome Tool
that gives me much needed time away from Reality.

Thanks in advance to all

What version of DS are you using? Is it the latest 4.5.1.6 (Help > About DAZ Studio)

The pivot point can be moved using the Joint Editor tool. We used to have to use a script by DeltaZ15 to do that, but it quite easy with the Jont Editor.

Select the item that you need ot move the pivot point on in the Scene pane, click on the Joint Editor tool (Alt+Shift+J) and you should see the axis marker, Move it to where you want the item to pivot.

See if that works for you.

    Wow..............

    A BIG THANK YOU...........Jimmy C...........for that Info.

I have the Tool in the Toolbox........but I did not understand
what it was used for...............go figure

This is Sweet..............what a joy to be able to rotate
    a Sword in the hand.

Good things come to those that wait.

I hope to be able to repay you someday.

    Thanks

Glad you got it working. There are so many new things in DS4.5 it's hard to keep up. Don't be stuck, there is plenty of help here on the forums.
