Problem with hair and soft shadows

Hi,

I'm new to DS and I'm still learning, and I have a problem with my character's hair when I use an emissive panel (to create soft shadows). Basically I'm doing a cube with an emissive shader, and on the render I can see the difference between the face skin of the character and her hair :

This problem appears only with emissive panels, on any genesis 3 characters with any hair. I'm using DS 4.9 last public beta, Iray render, my GPU is a GTX 1070.

Stop using emissive panels, especially cubes. A primitive pane as a mesh light won't cause too much penalty. However the photometric spotlight can have geometry such that it works like a photostudio softbox. It will give soft shadows.

However, I don't think that's your problem if you're talking about the darker band across the forehead. That's an issues with the skullcap. Ther was a thread about this a few months ago, but I don't remember the details.

Try the spotlight with geometry and see if that doesn't fix the problem.

Yes the skullcap is the problem. I'll try the spotlight, thanks :)

Don't forget to change the geometry to disc or rectangle etc. units are cm. See attached.
