need help with editing polygons in daz

I have an odd project where I am using a camera inside of V4 as if filming inside of a hallow mannequin. Everything looks good inside (lighting, texture, etc) except there are some things I need to hide or delete to get the complete effect. For example, the tongue. There are also some random pieces in various places that need to go.
I'm thinking I need to edit (delete) polygons inside of V4. I'm familiar with doing this sort of thing in Cinema 4d. Is this possible in Daz? I'm searching and can't seem to find anything about this.
I did find the Hexagon program which seems to work well with Daz. It appears there are more advanced selecting and editing tools for polygons in Hexagon and it's affordable. Would this be a better solution than trying to only work inside of Daz?
Thanks for any suggestions.

It may be safer to assign the bits you want to lose to a new material and then make that fully transparent via its surface settings, though the tongue is a separate body part and can be hidden by clicking the eye icons next to its bones in the Scene pane or by selecting all of its bones and using the Visible button in Parameters (under Display). You can assign polygons to a new surface group, or hide them and then delete hidden, using the Geometry Editor tool.
Do not pass go, do not collect $200, go directly to Blender... https://www.blender.org/ It's a free and open source 3D program that does EVERYTHING and is completely free. Many content creators use it with Sickleyield being the biggest promoter of Blender. She has tutorials for Blender to Daz on YouTube.
Blender has a billion free tutorials everywhere and there's even a free training version ( https://blendersensei.com/?doing_wp_cron=1421621126.6905400753021240234375 ) It sees half a million (Wow!) downloads a month and is crazy popular. It's open source architecture means that all kinds of folks make free plugins for it and the program now does EVERYTHING. The 'Blenderverse' is pretty amazing and the Blender forums are full of wildly enthusiastic folks who do amazing work and are enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge. It's an invigorating atmosphere that welcomes EVERYONE, regardless of your experience.
Did I mention that's free?
There's no need to go to another application, and doing so with a figure introduces complexities with returning the model to Daz Studio. In this case I would suggest doing the work in DS with the Geometry Editor.
Thank you for the suggestions. As Richard Haseltine suggested, assigning polygons to a new material seems the way to go.
I discovered if I delete the wrong polygon (which is really easy to do), there is no going back. By assigning polygons to new materials, if I hide wrong polygon, I can turn new material back to visible and remove polygons from new material (which will allow them to be present again).
The Geometry Editor is a great tool and it's so nice to not having to use another program for simple polygon editing. Thank you again for the help.
