Set parts of the hair invisible in render (solved)

My knowledge seems to be too poor, and I couldn't find anything in this forum or YouTube,, so I have to ask here: how can I set the scull of a hair or some of the strands invisible in IRay render?

If they have their own surface group, set the Cutout Oapcity to 0. If not you can use the Geometry Editor tool to select the polygons you want to hide (as long as they are a separate set of polygons, not sharing a polygon or more with areas you want to keep), right-click> Geoemtry Assignment>Create new Surface from Seelcted, and set the opacity/cutout opacity of that to 0.
Select the material in surfaces and you can either lower the cutout opaticity to zero or put a solid black image in it's cutout opacity channel. (This assumes you're using the iray shader)
Thx, cutout opacity does the trick.
