How do you bring a Character or an Object to a certain location?

I have a large scene like  a neighborhood. I found a good spot in it. I want to move my character there. Is there a way to copy the transforms of say an object in that area and paste them to the character so that i can easily bring the character over?   it's too far away to drag him with the arrows

A couple of options:

• select the thing you want to move, then the thuing you want to move it to, and in the Align pane select Align centres for x and z (for horizontal placement ) or include y (for moving off the floor) and then click Apply
• parent the thing you want to move to the thing you want to move it to with Parent in Place off (in the Scene pane option menu if you are dragging and dropping, or in the Change parent dialogue box if you use that).
• for newly loaded content, if your target spot is at floor level, hold down alt(Win)/opt(Mac) and drag from the content pane, releasing the mouse before the key.
