'm new to modo, and would like to render genesis included with textures.
would be nice to have control rig too, but think that 's asked to much

how do i start? can somebody explain the steps well to me. thx

how to load genesis in modo 601 ?

try some dae (no rig no textures)

try some fbx, then the rig is totally wrong loaded.

try some static obj, get my textures but i don't get my textures render right.

First off, I dont know Modo at all. Tried it once and that was enough.

However, from my experiance converting all the Star Trek model I would guess that there is a lot of manual work involved for you. Because Genesis is native to DAZ Studio and not Modo, the majority of your work will be on the Modo end of things. As far as DS goes, you are going to have to figure out the best export method out of DS and then do the rest of the work in Modo to finish up. I have only ever worked on mechanical models and those can take anywhere from days to weeks. Working on a humanoid model that needs rigging I can only guess on the time frame required.

I strongly suggest you start looking around in the Modo forums and search Google for other ideas and instructions to aid you in your conversion cause in all honesty, I dont think your going to find enough info, if any, that you need here simply because there are very few Modo users here. However, if one should drop by this thread, perhaps they can point you in the right direction towards info you can use to do what you're looking to do.

After a bit of a read of the Modo forums it looks like even they can't get Genesis into Modo with it's rig intact, so it looks like your on your own.

Possibly...but I can tell you it wasn't rigged there.

When you export it as an OBJ, make sure you have the export options to write the materials AND collect them.

Paths may still be messed up, but at least the textures will be in a central location and easier to apply.

    Genesis was rigged in DS4.

WOW this thread is very quiet. strange as there are enough modo users around here.
many users names can be found on the modo forums even admins are there.
