Update changed the look of Daz and nothing works anymore. (solved)

Today I updated Daz through the Inastall Manager as usual. But now my Daz looks really weired and I can't change the style. I think something went wrong with the update, but I don't know how to fix this. Any ideas are really aprechiated.

That's what I see, when I try to change the style.
All I can say is that my layout/style etc didn't change. You didn't have Studio open when you updated, by any chance?
It's even worse! I'm not able to open a scene or to load anything into the empty scene. Actually my Daz does not work at all.
Maybe? Could this have caused the problems? Usually I just click in the install manager to download and install everything while I'm working, because sometimes this needs a lot of time.
Thanks for the hint! :)
I now reinstalled the update and everything is fine now. What a shock, but now I'm happy again!
DS needs to be closed when installing DS or plug-ins.
But then they should mention it somewhere in the process like all other programs do.
With the install manager I didn't even noticed before that there is an update. It does everything autamatically.
Install Manager won't download or install unless you check the item.
I have this exact same problem.
How do you install the update again? Nothing appears in install manager, now.
Every damned update this same thing happens. Can someone at DAZ please stop screwing us over each time? It's a waste of time to have to fix this crap... every. damned. time...
If we need to close, then say so. If we need to backup our config files, then say so. Some instructions or warning would be greatly appreciated.
I'm glad I'm not the only one this happened too. Same question, how do I reinstall the update?
Never mind, I figured it out. The DAZ 4.9 install was in the "Ready to Install" column
Maybe it's you / your setup. Updates are always smooth for me. No changes to my custom Studio setup, no problems with my content.
Yes, you're right. But I usually have more than 20 checkboxes in the ready to download section after a purchase and with all the additional product updates that appear there. I don't look at each item separately and just click the 2 checkboxes for products and updates. And of course I have also clicked the install after download checkbox.
So in case of an update for Daz itself a little warning would be really appreciated.
I had this. Try clicking the Download Filters button in the Ready to Download tab and checking the Connect Installed box. Somehow DIM had decided for me thjat DS had been isntalled via Connect (which isn't possible) and as a result was hiding it - it isn't doing this for everyone, but it does sound as if you may have the same thing.
