Where did the scene go?

Why do I have a blank gray screen where the preview window is supposed to be? I've never seen that before. It says that whatever I have loaded is loaded, but there is no way for me to see it.

You've somehow accidently undocked/closed the Viewport pane. Click Window > Panes (Tabs) > Viewport to get it to diplay again (in a floating/undocked pane group). Click and drag the header of the pane group (not the tab, directly above that) to near the top of the center dock area. You will see a thin highlight indicating where it will dock. While the highlight is displayed above the center dock area, release the mouse button and the pane group (with the Viewport pane in it) will dock, consuming the entire center dock area.
