simple question for mac users

I have an old iMac that is rapidly running out of disk space (320GB disk).  It is one of the models where the hard disk is not user replaceable (oddly enough, for Apple, RAM is).  Can I plug in a large USB disk, move my D|S siles over and expect it to work, or is reconfiguration necessary?

Yes. If you use smart content, you'll have to reimport metadata afterward.
