Forums and Ghostery

With no overt change at this end of things, sometime (for me) yesterday night the forums effectively ceased workign for me when using Firefox (49.0.2).  The icons/buttons to login with and the cogwheel for options (such as marked as read and see latest) do not function. I am logged in (as witness me able to post) but the little icon remains white - I am using Opera on the same computer. by the way.  The shopping cart icon works, but those other two do not ... strange!

The only possible thing that might have changed was Ghostery (a plug-in for the browser). A 'quick' check showed that that was the case (pausing Ghostery enabled things on a page refresh) and then a wild-ass stab in the dark showed that it was with Ghostery enabled and the Google AJAX Search API blocked that the icons did not work.

I have all tracking cookies blocked, especially the Google-Analytics one and many sites don't work well (some not at all).  I found a hack that re-directs Google's invasive and downright nosey tracking.  The Daz forums now work for me...sorta.

By the way, if you like Opera and want a browser that looks and works like the old version, try Palemoon.

I'm using Firefox 49.0.2 and I have no problems. Maybe you have picked up something which is affecting your PC.

I'd like to dump all google addresses to the bit-bucket, but sadly can't seem to do that.  Still I do what I can in that area!  The only thing I had to unnlock was that Search API thing to get the forms back working.
