Halcon Bluesky - For sure. I just tried a new uv so we can make diffuse gradients easier in Jelly v2.   enlightenedMulti-flavour!

Then...the Jelly Bar! Every city shall have one  haha

I do like that, looks even more enticing.

Can I be a bit cheeky & ask how you did it? The way I'd do the UV mapping would be to do a 'Current View Planar Map' using my modeller with a side view and then do a graduated tex map, but I'd love to find other ways of doing things. The way I described was pretty much the same as I mapped the pen cap and barrel with the 'True Blue' blue & white fountain pen UV I did below:

I just had the pen on a slanted side view, used the planar mapping and then made up a very simple banded tex map with variable depth horizontal stripes. The effect was far beyond the minimal effort involved in doing it.

    Always wanting to learn.

    Regards,

    Richard.

Using Blender, there's an adddon called UV squares which is very useful, so I used that on the sides (for the next version) Then just did the gradient in Photoshop.

Put it in diffuse color, translucency color and glossy colour surfaces. Not really sure what I'm doing most of the time lol

hmm, i must grab that penyes

Thanks for taking the trouble to explain what you did. Interesting. I just can't do anything in Blender as I know so little I can't even complete a command, and I have never found a text based tutorial - I learn absolutely nothing from videos because I'm a bit deaf, unused to strong accents, the resolution is often too low and the presenter always skips past the bit I'm having problems with.

The pen, I had planned to have it on this freebie forum and in this thread: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/7207876/#Comment_7207876, but the attachment was too big, so it's visible in my freebies in Rendo. Currently the second row on page 4 .   https://www.renderosity.com/users/richardandtracy/freestuff?sb=newest&page=4.  The freebie thread shows other pens, pen related poses & accessories I've done too.

    Regards,

    Richard

Check this channel https://www.youtube.com/@RyanKingArt I think you goin to liked, good resolution and take the time to explain  what is doing in the video. The  good thing about blender is more that one way to do things, you can use the shortcut or the menus to work in blender.
