Windows Server OS Compatibility Questions?

Figured post in this section to ask, as it covers most of Daz's Product lines, and I was also wondering on other products that some here may have used.

Gist of the story is, I'm currently building a new server/workstation for myself, My new game rig from last year, ran Windows 8.1 Pro, and now 10 Pro, and things got a little wonky with Carrara 8.1 Pro in Windows 8.1...   It was more buggy and more likely to have intermittent problems, but was still usable.

Fast forward to Windows 10...  ugh, C8 just doesn't want to work right.   It works, but at the same time, drop down menu's don't fully populate or render, leaving partially animated/rendered drop down lists, things freeze and lag, even the preview window where you do all your work would have issues, rendering in real time, or displaying things.   I'v tried using my regular discreet graphics, GTX 980 Ti, and the integrated Intel graphics on the CPU, i5 4690K, no overclocking, etc.

Just seems more prone to problems and such.

So, I was going to obtain a new copy of Windows 7 64-bit (Pro) and use my old i7 920 system, seeing as I sold my old copy of Win7 to a friend with a PC I built for him.

But I had been talking about building a nice Dual Quad Core server for cheap for a couple years, and finally did it.    Still in the initial build stages, as all I have is the board, CPU's (2.53GHz Xeon Quads, I forget the models off hand, but its E5 series, 80W models), heatsinks, Case and HDD's, still need to get a good PSU with Dual 8 pin EPS12V connectors, loads of cheap DDR3 (at least 8 to 16GB per CPU) and the OS.  Can use an older GPU in meantime too (GTX 285, GTX 470, etc).

But I'm wondering too, since this machine will occasionally be used for other tasks, besides 3D rendering, such as Video editing, and basic 2D image editing, but also occasionally used for game server purposes, and whatever else comes to mind, basically migrating all my workstation like stuff off my game rig.  I'm wondering if and how many of Daz's products will/would work under Windows Server 2008 or 2012 editions?

At least as far as stability and support go?

Daz Studio works fine on Windows 8.1 Pro and even 10 Pro, with my gaming system.   But was wondering if it works under the Windows Server OS's as well?

Carrara 8.1 Pro, Bryce 7 Pro (7.1 or whatever it was last updated to), Hexagon 2.x, are the main ones I play with, I haven't used Mimic or Mimic Pro in years, but may again at some time.

For those who have experience with other non Daz products, off hand does anyone also know if e-On softwares Vue products also work under Server 2008 or 2012 at all?

If Not, for Vue, or Carrara 8.1 or Bryce 7.x, etc, then I will just end up getting Win7 Pro instead.

But, if it does run under Server, then I might go and get that.

Considering how cheap I built this one with, I may build a 2nd one in a few months, but with a much more capable CPU/GPU rendering set up, looking at 2 CPU's, either hex or octo, and a board with enough PCIe x16 slots for 2 or 3 Nvidia GPU's for Iray in Daz Studio.    Since July I've not touched my 3D software, due to the problems I'm having with C8 in Windows 10.  (That and my hours at work picked up, so not a bunch of spare time either)

I only use Daz Studio intermittently when C8 is what I use most of the time.   Also don't have the spare cash to drop on Carrara 8.5 Currently (any thoughts on how well or not that works on Windows 10?), though in a month or so that will change.  But am looking at Vue 2015 as my next big software purchase, even if its just Vue Esprit with a few select modules for now.

But in the mean time, wondering how Server 2008 or 2012 will work, if at all, with most of the Daz Products?
