  • brand spankin' noob here to all that is 3d rendering and desing.

was hoping to find a few tips on how to print models on a 3d printer.

while the tutorials were exellent, none of the videos touched on the topic. is it possible to print right from daz studio? or do i have to have additional sofware to export the files to and print them from there?

any and all tips are appreciated.

  • I have split this out as it is a question rather than an introductory comment.

As far as I am aware you need to export the model in a format the printer software can handle, then import that into the printer software and print from there. However, it is not a field of which I know much.

You got it right, Richard. The actual format required will be identified in the printer software documentation (probably .stl for most consumer printers). From DAZ Studio it will probably require a two-step process: DAZ Studio - export as Wavefront object (.obj), then convert to .stl or or similar.
