Magnet Help

I have a morph pack from http://www.runtimedna.com/BadaBING-V4-Lower-Body-Shaping-System.html but can't tell how it should be used.
As I understand it, there are a set of magnets which I can then see if I decide to show "hidden nodes."
However, nothing happens no matter what I do to the magnet control/zones. Is there something I'm missing here?
The readme says to load the magnet control onto V4. I have done this, parented to the correct part of V4. It just doesn't seem to adjust the figure.

You should have a user guide in PDF format included in the download, does that not help you.
Taken from the product page
If you are using this in Daz Studio then Magnetize is always turned on and since these are morphs not clothing I am not sure what you mean by "As I understand it, there are a set of magnets which I can then see if I decide to show “hidden nodes.”
You inject a morph and in the Parameters Pane you find the morph and dail/slide them up to see the morph take effect.
The only files I have are .pz2 and .pp2 files. The .pz2 files seem to modify the BBRemote (the thing that loaded from .pp2 file) parameters but the figure does not visibly change.
I followed the steps in the user guide, but nothing happened besides the red lines+control appearing.
I think I might be misunderstanding the purpose of this, but it says to
Steps 1-4: Basically apply the BadaBing prop (BBRemote) to the DS figure.
5) This will load in all the magnets and the control unit.
6) Select the Control Prop and you will see the list of Dial Sets. (I see these dial sets.)
7) For Basic use, navigate to the Poses directory !Controls/BadaBing (I tried loading the pose)
8) Again make sure that you have the BBRemote prop selected, and apply the pose [from the directory in Step 7] of your choice. The Body Shape of V4 will instantly change into the desired shapes." (The parameters of the BBRemote changed, but the figure did not.)
Well if it isn't working like other morphs packages then my I suggest contacting the vendor via RDNA
I thought it might be a mistake I'm making with the morphs, as I haven't done anything with magnets or DFormers before this.
Are there any tutorials for magnets and DAZ Studio 3/4 that you could recommend?
Sorry I can't. I have never needed to use Magnets in Daz Studio and magnets are only for clothing not morphs so I am having a hard time getting my head around your issues hence me suggesting going directly to the source over at RDNA where you purchased the item.
What happens when you move these sliders below...nothing??
HI - An old thread, I know, but I have just installed the same magnet packages and wonder if anyone knows how to make the red lines disappear (or at least fade). There are masses of themwhich do not help either when adjusting the magnet controls or during general posing.
I've looked through all the DS4.6 menus but can't spot any way to make them invisible.
You can turn visibility off (on the Fields, in particular) or you can edit the Opacity setting under Display. Select all of them at once to change en masse.
Sorry Richard, I just spotted this before heading off to bed, so I'm probably too tired. But I have no idea which Visibility (Fields) settings you mean nor how to find the Opacity under Display. The little eye symbol beside each object has no effect whatsoever, if thats' what you mean by visibility (the "v" column next to "s" and Node).
By the way, I don't see all of those Base and Zone nodes that you can see in Post #3, above.
OK - I think I know what Display you mean but I can't see anything that allows me to change the visibility of the red lines of the magnets.
You're in the right area of the Parameters tab, but I'm not sure what you've got selected. You need to have the Field for each D-Former selected (easiest done in the Scene tab), then you can click "Visible" to "Off" in the Parameters tab.
And I've just noticed if you right-click in the Scene tab, you get a Select option, then Select All D-Forms. That should let you switch visibility of every D-Former in the scene with one click, even if you're not sure where they are.
The fastest and best way is to just use the Scene Tab as shown here....
Well, it seems to me that the product has changed in the year since this thread was started. As I mentioned earlier, I don't have those selectable zones. All I have is the "controller" which is a remote control gizmo that appears in the scene. I can make tha invisible, no problem. However, there are no children below the controller as there are in the original scree shots.
Anyhow, I've written to the vendor and included a link to this discussion. Hopefully I'll have an answer soon.
The product is a set of "Magnets" (which, I think, is the Poser term for deformers) and a controller. The Controller is the gizmo called "BadaBing". It is selectable and can be made invisible. That's what I have selected in my screen shot. In the Scne tab, the controller is shown (see screen shot below) but there are no associated deformer fields with it as there are when I create my own deformers within DS.
Now, I always delete the deformers after I've created a morph. The dials remain in the Parameters tab but there are no longer red lines in view. It seems that with this magnet set, the deformers have been removed but the lines remain.
Ah, well that is a issue. Never seen that one before.
Open the Scene pane option menu (click the menu button in the top corner, or right-click the tab) and then go to Show>Show Hidden Nodes. You should then be able to select and hide the DFormers, I think.
Oh Wow! There are millions of them ;)
But that was the answer, thanks Richard.
This is where "Select All D-Formers" comes in handy and saves you a few weeks :ohh: extra setup time for your scene...
Don't forget that, with V4, a lot of those hidden DFormers come with the figure.
Yes indeed. Helpfully, all the ones I was looking for started with BB :)
