Can G2M characters wear G3M clothing?

Will this work or will there be problems? If so, are there any pacakges out there which would make it right?

G3M clothes won't fit G2M by default.
This product includes an autofit clone to convert clones from G3M to G2M : http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-3-male-for-genesis-2-male-s
Even without that convert clone I succeeded to fit G3 clothes to G1, so would G2.
Answer the autofit question with "adapted V4" and if necessary play around with the hidden parameters.
If there're still poke throughs, apply the collision handling.

Do they work backwards, too? I was under the impression they just work from G2 to G3, and not the other way around.
Those pack are add-ons for Genesis 3. Sickleyield has other packs for G2M / G2F.
Autofit works in 2 steps:
1) it uses a clone to adjust the mesh from the source figure to the target figure
2) it applies a projection template to automatically rig the converted mesh for the target figure. A template can also include some specific morphs.
SY Ultra templates for Genesis 3 give you more templates to choose from when you fit something to G3, for different types of garments, some including adjusting morphs to help with the fit afterwards. The G3M version also gives you two more clones you can use for the first step when converting from G3F or G2M.
