Props and models deleting randomly

I wondered about posting this on the Mac FAQ but couldnt see if it was open for questions or simply a list of prior discussions and solutions...
So here we go with apologies if this is the wrong place...
I recently installed the new OS for Mac called Sierra, and have noticed some problems with DS since doing so. Objects-characters-props loaded into a scene delete themselves without any obvious reason. There does not seem to be any specific category of thing, it seems to be purely random. To be clear, I DO NOT delete these things myself, they simply vanish from the viewport and the scene window.
My question is has anyone else experienced this.
I need to know if this is as a result of installing the operating system or something else. I know there is a new version of DS available DS 4.9, which currently I have not installed. I am running DS 4.8.0.59. I am happy with this unless the problem I am experiencing relates to this older version.
Right now I dont know how to proceed because if it is a Mac problem then there is no cure to be had by installing the DS upgrade.
Anyone have any ideas please

hello,
You can post in that thread, which is easier to get my attention, but the nice FixMyPCMike pointed me to this one ;-)
What hardware are you running on? I don't have Sierra installed anywhere yet (I've run out of power in my room, can't connect another machine without the risk of the autofuse will blow, close to 20 Amps (on 240V) right now).
Why I ask is, I know Sierra implements lots of phone like gestures on touchpad, things that I personally hate (keep the computer a computer and the phone a phone). Can be some gesture that triggers delete (just a tought)
Hi and thank you
I have a desktop and a connected trackpad which i never use because like you I have a phone and dont need another. It could be something to do with gestures, the best way to check this would be to take the batteries out of the trackpad, which i will do and keep an eye on how things go.
Thanks for the help
