Saving incomplete pray shaders

Is there a way to save an iRay shader leaving out some of the parameters (in particular cutout opacity)? I want to make my own hair shaders but preserve the opacity each time I reuse it with different models.

Yes, in the save dialog expand all and untick the image maps you want to 'preserve' from the original load. If there are any maps, they will overwrite what ever is already on the surface. You should also uncheck the UV section, so it will use the default/current UVs of the surface.
