Using clothing between Genesis 2 & 3 questions

Hi everyone, this may seem like some basic questions but i guess thats what this forum is for. 

I dont have the Genesis 3 character and im still using Daz 4.6.

What do i need to use Genesis 3 clothing with G2 models?

Or, if i need to upgrade to G3 will the characters ive created with G2 automatically work with G3?

Do i need to upgrade from 4.6 and will everything ive created automatically work with the upgrade?

No, Genesis 2 characters will not automatically work with Genesis 3 - both the morphs and the texture layout are different. The same is true of using Genesis 3 morphs and textures on Genesis 2. Gen X 2 does allow, with the right add-ons, the covnersion of morphs and Cayman Studios has tools here and at Renderosity (depending on the source UV) for using textures from one on the other. Clothes (and other fitted items) for Genesis 2 can be AutoFitted to the corresponding Genesis 3, and the reverse can be done using add-ons from the store
