Questions about the default skin material and adding new skin materials to a figure

Hi
I have not found the exact information for this questions in the forums or in google, I'm not sure how materials are working in this cases
The first 2 attached images are the Case A, in this case I load the Aiko 7 character without nothing else just double click on the Aiko 7 character
The last 2 attached images are the Case B, in this case I apply the Aiko 7 All maps material to the Aiko 7 character
My questions
1- So the case A doesn't have the aiko skin loaded by default ?
2- Is the material in the case A some "default skin material ?
3- The characters does not have the corresponding materials loaded by default ?
4- How is this default skin called and where I can check the materials or skins currently loaded in my figure ? The surface tabs doesn't show the exact skin loaded
5- The materials in the case B image are the stand alone Aiko 7 materials? Or are they the default materials PLUS the Aiko 7 materials ?
6- When I load a new material the last material gets deleted or is added like a layer, like the photoshop layers ?
7- How I can delete all the materials in a figure ? Apparently Daz 4.6 had a preset to delete all the materials and then leave the figure in grey clay, there is an option like this in daz 4.9 ?
8- Every character that I load seems to have the same material so I was thinking that maybe that was the default material but then I loaded the base genesis 3 female and that figure have a different material loaded. So genesis 3 female has her correspondent material loaded by default and the other characters don't ?
9- It's because she is the base to others characters or there is another reason ?
Thanks in advance

I don't have her, so I'm only guessing...but it looks like one set of materials is set for Iray and the other is 3Delight. They should both be using the same maps and are, essentially, the same thing, but for each renderer.
When loading a new material preset, the old one is removed...so yes, the Surface tab should be showing the current one.
Can you post a screenshot of the Surfaces tab for both A and B?
This happens with all my characters Gia 7, Rune 7, Mei Lin, Karen 7, Victoria 7 etc
Yes, that was the reason !
I loaded the Aiko 7 All maps Iray and looks like the case A and if I load the 3Delight version it looks like the case B. If I load another character material Iray version It looks like the case A, if I load the 3Delight version it looks like B again. With the eyes and lips and etc of the materials of the corresponding character, Aiko, Victoria etc
Why the 3Delight version always looks better ? It's because I have an AMD graphics card ?
So the old material is removed I like that. But I don't know in which part of the surface tab is the current material name. The name under currently used is always the name of the character in this case Aiko, If I load the Victoria 7 materials the name displayed is still Aiko
Yes, MJC is right.
for most* characters a way to see if they have 3delight or Iray materials is by the way it looks in the viewport. Usually Iray materials look shiny, and 3DL materials look kinda "matte"... for most* characters. You can also see what the materials are in your images posted above. You can see in the top of the surfaces bar it says Shader: Iray Uber and the other one AoA_subsurface
1- So the case A doesn't have the aiko skin loaded by default ?
yes it does, the default material for aiko7 is for Iray
2- Is the material in the case A some "default skin material ?
Yes, default for iray, without make up or other settings. simple plain natural skin for Iray rendering.
3- The characters does not have the corresponding materials loaded by default ?
They usually come with iray by default, but they also come with 3delight option to apply in the materials if you prefer that render engine.
4- How is this default skin called and where I can check the materials or skins currently loaded in my figure ? The surface tabs doesn't show the exact skin loaded
The default skin has different zone materials. Click the figure, in the Surfaces tab, editor tab, click the figure name (Aiko 7) surfaces > face (to se the face texture). Then scroll down to diffuse color, click the little icon, and click browse. The place where the skins are stored in your pc will show up.
5- The materials in the case B image are the stand alone Aiko 7 materials? Or are they the default materials PLUS the Aiko 7 materials ?
They are default Aiko 7 materials for 3Delight.
6- When I load a new material the last material gets deleted or is added like a layer, like the photoshop layers ?
last material is deleted when you click a new material
7- How I can delete all the materials in a figure ? Apparently Daz 4.6 had a preset to delete all the materials and then leave the figure in grey clay, there is an option like this in daz 4.9 ?
I would do it manually, select all surfaces and go changing the values in to the default ones. I don't know another better way to do that :/ someone else might know
8- Every character that I load seems to have the same material so I was thinking that maybe that was the default material but then I loaded the base genesis 3 female and that figure have a different material loaded. So genesis 3 female has her correspondent material loaded by default and the other characters don't ?
I'm NOT SURE about the answer to this one, but I guess genesis 3 only comes with 3delight materials (i could be wrong)
9- It's because she is the base to other characters or there is another reason?
maybe :| not sure
The easy way to remove all materials...load up a sphere primitive, select its only surface and then File > Save As > Shader preset, accept the 'default' config and set it in a location you can find, Shader Presets is a good choice. This will create a Daz Default Shader preset with nothing loaded. To use, just select all the surfaces of an item and apply.
