Nvidia 1070 card question

Does anyone know if the new Nvidia 1070 card render Iray materials. I read somewhere that it didn't and
wanted to get to the truth before shelling out money for a new one.
Thanks,
Kent

Not at this time...support for the 10x0 series cards is waiting on the final packages from Nvidia. Then once those are available to Daz, the regular beta process will happen.
what card would you recommend for the best renderer at this time....a 980 card?
No, AMD cards don't support Iray.
OK...thanks for that info on the AMD card.
I'd consider a 9 series card a waste of cash now; unless seriously cheap in comparriosn to origainal price. 30% isn't so bad.
Would like to know if the Nvidia Quadro K620 card supports Iray renders.
Thanks,
Kent
Unless it's cheap...2GB isn't worth it.
I have the 1070. I cant do iray renders with it yet, but from what ive seen of Reality 4... I cant wait to see what it can do to a iray render.
With Reality 4. I'm running at about 3-10 MS/s
To give you a gadge... My old computer ran at 30-100 Ks/s took about 10 hours to clean up... After I got the 1070. It pushed my renders down to 30-45 mins in Reality 4.
a 16 hour reality render was common. Where as a 8 hour iray render was common. So if my math is correct. I'm ecpecting a 15-30 minute render with iray on a 1070.
Not to mention gaming... Theres only been one game that can knock a 1070 down lower then 30FPS that I've seen... That was Minecraft, with 512 textures and a ray tracing shader on max settings. :P
I actually really like this card. Most of my games play at 60-170 FPS... and photoshop runs as smooth as a babys bottom.
I wouldn't waste you cash. If it does, 2GB of RAM, and 384 CUDA cores. Your CPU may be faster, (depending on what it is). And with that RAM your CPU will be used a lot.
900 series is the best the render with now, but you want a massive amount of discount imo; 700 can be decent, but again you want massive amounts of discount, and cards with a 4GB minimum are rarer in that range.
1000 series cards are due to get IRAY support soon; it is possible that they have support in closed beta, but that is more guesswork than speculation, but I would expect it this year, and hopefully sooner rather than later.
Thank you for the advice...will wait for the 1070 card.
Yeah for the 1070's price tag.. Your not going to get much more bang for your buck then a GTX 1070. Theres even been a few instances where the 1070 was faster then the 1080 and beats the 980TI regularly. Not to mention its well knowen for its stablity in overclocking. My personal advise if you don't mind my saying so.. I would wait until After Christmas sells specials. I bet you can snag a GTX 1070 for an even $300.00 Maybe even less? OO
OK..that sounds great. In the interm and to save cash, I bought a GT 740 with 4 gigs of memory. Better than what I had.
Looking forward to the power of the 1070 to reduce render times etc....
