Can't load V7

Hi - I am struggling a bit with DS - I converted from Poser, but tbh have just been using the legacy figures.

I am determined to get used to using G3, but I am struggling to even load the basic figures!

I get the following message when I try to load V7, also, the product windows have that funny 'caution' triangle in them and no preview thumb?

  • How did you isntall - usng Install Manager, Connect, or manually? The files are not where the database says they are for some reason, hence the missing thumbnails and warning signs.

I did it manually. where should I have put the files then?

The most common error when manually installing is having a folder named "Content" underneath your actual content folder.  For example, if the content folder specified in Content Directory Manager in DS is "My Daz 3D Library:, then the Data and Runtime folders need to be directly underneath it.  If you have "My Daz 3D Library\Content\Data" then DS won't find it.  If that's the case, take all the files that are currently under "Content" and move them up one level to be directly under "My Daz 3D Library".

  • Thanks, I'll go look.

  • Hi - 'Content' seems to be in the right place, but then I worry about where the other folders should go - like 'runtime', 'people', etc...?

  • Runtime, Data, and any folders in the same location should be in the actual content directory set in Daz Studio. You should not, generally, have a folder name Content.
