Need help with Godrays

Im trying to produce the studio light effect like in this photo http://albertofoto.deviantart.com/art/What-a-feeling-29687986

So i picked up http://www.daz3d.com/epic-props-godrays-volumetric-light-for-iray  which appears to have that effect, but I haven't been able to get the desired result.

Can this addon do what im looking to do or is there some other way to achieve the look I'm going for??

    Well, the rays are props, so if you are aiming directly at the camera, it might be that you just can't see them.

    Could you post a screenshot of your setup?

    I'm just trying to recreate the effect in the photo using daz.

    You are looking more for a lens flare than a godray...

    It would probably be easier to do with this...

    instead of the godrays product.

    If you want, and you have purchased the Epic Props:Godrays less than 30 days ago, then you can probably exchange it by contacting Customer Support.

    The other way to do it...and what I would probably do (because I'm cheap and already have everything I need to do it devil)...is to do it in post.  Simply load the rendered image into your preferred (in my case GIMP) image editor and add some lens flare on each of the lights.  You can get fancy and use canvases and all that and then use a compositng program (again I'd use an OpenSource freebie...Natron) and do it there, too.  Iray doesn't have a native method of doing lensflare, so you are going to have do it by one of those methods.

    Thanks for the suggestion I like the godrays and will more than likely pickup the kit you suggested. I'm just starting out in daz and am picking my favorite photo on DA and am recreating them.  Again thanyou for the help

    Going to have to check those out.  I happen to have both of the above items but I always like to know how to do things manually so to speak as well.

    Doesn't seem to me that the Epic Props "Godrays and Volumetric Light" set is the way for you to go, but I have to thank you for the link - I didn't know such a thing existed! Wow!!

    What comes to mind when I viewed your reference image on Deviantart was "Ron's Water" and other, similar, Photoshop brush sets.  Alas, I have no idea how to use those or other DAZ products that create "water-drops-on-skin" and "wet look" effects etc... best of luck though just the same. smiley

    By the way (and FWIW) the generic term associated with these effects is particle systems if I'm not mistaken. Here is a link to something in the DAZ store that falls into this category, I believe: http://www.daz3d.com/simtenero-particle-physics-water-emitters
