Having Trouble With Meagan & Matt

Just purchased Meagan & Matt bundle. When I tryed extracting the files it came up with an error code claiming 'Path too long'. It even came up with 'Destination path too long' on something as simple as 'Base' (file or folder, I'm not sure which) I clicked 'try again' and it just repeated error code. I finally clicked 'skip' and on the next file the same thing happened. I finally clicked 'Do this for all current items' and when it finished I checked the folders to find all 'materials folder' and morphs folder in the data folder files missing. The characters are there but they don't load with half the files missing.

Is this a problem easily fixed or do i need to open a ticket.

If it's ticketed problem can you tell me how to do that, as I haven't done one in a few years.

When I've had this problem, it's always for the same reason. I might download a .rar file, which has a directory and a .zip file within that. The .zip file by default creates a new directory with the same name, so in the end you might get the following default path where the .zip is trying to deposit all its files:

I:\DAZ\112684MadAboutHerPoses\112684 i13 Mad About HER Mega Organized Pose Collection for the Genesis 3 Female(s)\IM00112684-01_i13MadAboutHERMegaOrganizedPoseCollection

The fix for this is very simple. When you click to "Extract" the .zip file, you get the standard "This is where I'm going to put the extracted files" dialog box. All you have to do is shorten the path. In the example I provided, I would shorten it to I:\DAZ\112684MadAboutHerPoses. Then when the files are extracted, you have to go back up a level or two in your file structure to get to the new folder.

I hope that makes sense... It's 5 am and I'm a bit sleepy. My writing might not be so clear...  ))

Product should be packaged to wear a paying customer isn't fixing broken products.

What zip utility are you using?  DIM installed Megan and Matt just fine, 7Zip and even Window's built-in zip utility (the worst on the planet) had no problem opening an of the zips.

Not jumping to conclusions much? Product isn't broken.

I used DIM, no problem with the install. Just reinstalled using Winzip, also no problems.

How are you trying to install them to get that weird error message.

Thanks for the tip John. I tryed that and it worked like a charm. It only did it on one jpg. file but I redone it with a shorter file name again. I was also able to fix up Haley clothing with missing boot texture.

    Thanks.

If you look in the Zip, you'll see it starts with a "Content" directory. You can't use a nested directory named "Content" under your root Daz3D directory. Content can be the root, but you can't have MyDazStuff/content/whatever as the path.

DIM understands this. If you install manually, you can't select the "Content" folder, you have to start one level lower.
