Overlapping Clothes Problem -- advice needed SOLVED!

I'm trying to apply overlapping clothes and am getting serious poke through.  I want the sweater to overlap the skirt.

I have tried rescaling, etc, and things become too distorted, or don't fit properly.  I have tried selecting and hiding surfaces, but the mesh resolution isn't high enough and things go from poke-through to see-through.

I'm about to try substance painter to see if I can make an opacity map for the skirt, but that will have it's own problems.

Does anyone have any other suggestions.  I've scoured the forums and a few other sights and didn't see anything.  Is this a common problem with wardrobe?

Thanks in advance.

If those clothes are from the same set then there might be morphs included in the set to make them fit better. If not you can try to use deformers to help with the fit.

You could also try fitting the shirt to the skirt. Or dialing up one of the hidden morph parameters (voluptuous, pear shaped, etc) can sometimes be useful for nudging in/out clothes. But as Leana said there might be some adjustment sliders in the parameters panel for the shirt to tweak the fit around the waist/hips. And there's always the fit control products.

This is not a severe case of pokethrough. Should be able to fix with a smooth modifier.

On the blouse, Edit>Figure>Geometry>Apply Smooth Modifier. Smooth it against the Collision item: Skirt.

    Dial the Iteration slider gradually

  • Thanks Guys!

I found one extra Skirt morph (thickness) that narrowed it a little, but the image was still unusable. The Smooth Mod put it over the top (litterally) with very little distortion.

    Thanks again.
