Just point the way - can't find my content installed via DIM

lenwilderlenwilder Posts: 188

Continuously, when I acquire new content and install via the DIM it doesn't show up in Daz3d.

I do the Content DB Maintenance re-import metadata and still cannot find many of the items.

Is there a complete documentation or tutorials available for assuring all content items installed with DIM are findable, accessible and installed properly for use by Daz3d?

Is there is a process or procedure I must follow to access all daz3d content installed with DIM?

I would appreciate to know about it.

If I should not use the dim... that is fine too.  I just need to know how I can maintain and continuously keep the content updated, searchable, etc. inside Daz3d studio.

I notice when I right click on a greyed out box there are a number of check boxes... edit metadata, update metadata, export metadata.

Additionally,  I don't have the content item showing to do anything with it.

Yes, I sometimes find items in the content library...and the search seems to work and not work.

I usually go into my product library and make sure of the exact name of the product and enter it in content library search.

The smart library --- well, if I don't see it there I forget about it and use the content library. *time consuming"

  • Is the folder DIM is isntallng to set as a Daz Studio Content directory? If you look in DIM, in the Installed tab, are the items showing a tick in the database column (the one with a cylinder icon in its header)? What security software do your use? Do you close DS before opening DIM, and how quickly? It may be better to try running DIM while DS is open.

  • I have check marks beside some products as you can see. They all appear to be installed from what I can tell.

Some don't have check marks, but in the Daz3d they are installed

1 - If you right-click on the entry in DIM and choose "Installed Files" it will show you the names and paths for all the files

2 - Content Library > Products will also show all the files installed by DIM for the product

3 - You can create your own Categories for files if they don't come categorized or you prefer a different categorization.

Many of the products on your list that don't have the check are older Poser format item you will have to look for them in the Content Library tab under Poser Formats.
