I've tried these two options (unused and child) and they won't delete.

You can even select all the children bones... but when you go to delete it just deletes one bone....

And for some reason it doesn't see most of the facial bones as unused even though the mask is only a domino mask.

You have to break the connection to the 'main bone' before it's considered 'not used' and most of the facial bones are only one step down.

How do you break the connection? I can't find anything in the menus that even sounds close to this action.

Generally, you delete a bone in between...but when they are only one level removed, you will be deleting them all manually...

One trick that I've done in the past is to go through that mess 1 time with the main figure (Genesis 3) and save it under a new name (like maskdonor_g3f) and then fit things to that.

  • I'm wondering if there is a standard that people agree upon about these settings when making a bodysuit for Genesis 3 figures.

When creating the model in say ZBrush, what is the accepted size for the suits...36,000 total points? 18,000 points? More or less. What's the highest allowable for DAZ?

When importing the suit into  DAZ when should you use the Smoothing Modifier check box?

And as far as the smoothing modifier goes when should this be used? Whenever I use it for boots, people tell me not to use it. Yet it seems to work great for suits.

For the most part I'm able to import my suits into DAZ with  no problems except some groin tears... How can I avoid these?  I'm assuming I need to  make sure the poly density is higher in the groin area... Will a denser polys on the groin also help avoid funny stretching in this region. (even after extensive weight map brushing)

I've tried "Trial & Error" but can't seem to come to any conclusions.

The smoothing modifier shouldn't be used on 'hard' surfaces (armor, stiff leather, shoe soles, jewelry, etc).

  • Is there anything I can do to prevent  the crotch from blowing out while posing? Is the only answer weight maps?

Careful construction, weight map manipulation and custom made corrective morphs....

  • When you mention Custom made morphs... you're talknig about JCMs? Correct.

Can you point me in the right direction for creating these?

Also. Is this  something that can be saved within the daz file. or does it need to reload each time.
