white thin contour line that renders around object against transparency

Hi!

I am getting helpless with the terrible issue of white thin contour that renders with my 3d objects on transparency. The thin white line appears when I open the .tiff in Photoshop. I triend changing the layout color to black as has been suggested somewhere but it doesn't help. Is there a way to render against transparency without this white contour line ?

Thanks!!!

Michal

  • Which application are you rendering in? What render engine? What settings?

  • DAZ3d of course. Iray Photoreal

    Draw dome set to Off.

  • Assuming you mean Daz Studio, since it's the only Daz application with Iray, I don't think I am seeing this rendering a simple sphere and placing a solid black layer behind it in Photoshop (CS6). This is in the current product version of DS, 4.9.2.70

I don't see any extra border in Photoshop CC 2015.5 either.

I don't use Iray, but in case there is some Iray equivalent to this, here is one possible fix for a similar-sounding issue in 3DL.  Perhaps somebody can suggest a corresponding (if there is one) Iray-based fix?

        Render settings pane:
Sometimes (such as when I was working with a candle flame) there would be a 1-pixel-wide white line around the edge of the object, or a 1-pixel-wide transparent line 1 pixel in from the edge of the object.  This made it look strange up close but destroyed the shape when the object was in the distance and only a few pixels across.  To fix, in the Render Settings, change the "pixel filter width (x)" and "pixel filter width(Y)" to smaller values.  In my case they defaulted to 6, and changing them to 3 fixed it.
