Skins loading as plastic

Ok, I got my V4 to G3F converter, and saved out my V4 skins as .duf files. Then ran the scripts and got them to load onto G3F just fine. Then I go to render and... it's plastic? I know this is some kind of Iray conversion problem, and it only seems to effect some of the skins I'm importing, but... what do I do?
Actually, I tried loading them directly onto V4, and they show up plasticy then too. Some of these are thrid-party, some are from DAZ. What should I do to them to make them skin-like? Just going to surfaces and changing the lighting model doesn't seem to cut it.

They most likely won't have Iray settings if they are V4, its also possible they are set up for Poser, you will need to apply the Iray base shader and alter the settings in the surfaces tab. It might help to load a figure with iray settings and use those settings, but older skins also don't usually have the right sets of mats for iray so it can be trial and error to get them to look good.
The Iray Skin converter for Gen 4 does a good job on the skins even ones with missing maps or poser settings

Perhaps this will be in the sales at some point soon
Quick thing to try:
Set glossy weight to 1, glossy color to pure white, Glossy reflectivity to about .3, and Glossy Roughness to, oh, .5 or so. Tweak a little to taste.
Translucency ~.5, translucency color = diffuse color (there are better ways to do this, but this is the easiest and least error prone method)
Make sure thin shell is Off, set SSS weight to .1 or so. Transmitted color should be a dark brown (tweaking that can help give skin more depth -- if transmitted color and transluncy is too light/high, the person will look like jello.)
This is helping with some of them, but I think I'll have to wait for that converter to go on sale for the rest of them.
