License for Daz3D Toon characters

dgundgun Posts: 12

I am new to Daz3D and have been trying to get a simple answer to a simple question without much success. I have read through the the EULA and because of all the 'technical jargon' it is hard to decipher the answer to the following question:

Am I able to use toon characters such as Cookie, Chip, Gumdrops etc., commercially in rendered animations without having to get any special kind of commercial license? I DO NOT require them for games.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am ready to purchase products for my project, but would like confirmation first that I can use these characters. Could someone direct me to the place in the EULA that has this information?

Thanks in advance!

Normal renders and animations are indeed covered by the EULA  both Commercial and non Commercial

The Games Dev Licenses are only needed for games .

This is the clause in the EULA  which answers your query.  The last part means that you cannot sell anything from which any part of the original purchased product can be extracted,  This normally means the actual mesh or copies of the textures used which could then be re-used, if you see what I mean.  So if you used the original texture or mat and put it on a plane primitive and sold it as a tablecloth, then that is not allowed.
