DS Crashes when Editing CMS

I kept getting error messages about the Posges CMS not being able to do something or other, so I reinstalled the DB after trying some other things mentioned in the forums. Now, I don't have the message, but anytime I try to edit the content DB, DS crashes. Help!

  • Which version of DS - Help>About Daz Studio?

  • 4.9.2.70 Mac.
  • Does DS work normally if you don't edit the CMS? What security software are you using?

  • I just run the basic Mac OS X 10.11.6 set-up with no add-on security software. DS works normally if I don't edit the CMS, but I've lost most of my smart content (e.g., it doesn't show up in the smart content pane; it's still in the content library), so editing entries is important.

Can you Export User Data (if you haven't already), reset thr databaser, and re-import metadata?

  • I did that. It was a disaster: everything except my personal files disappeared, including all of my DAZ-purchased files. I think because the CMS DB was messed up, it didn't properly save things. So now I'm looking at a bleakly empty Smart interface. It's depressing. I don't want to re-download all of my DAZ content again just to fix the DB, nor do I want to lose all of the info on the files I got from elsewhere.
  • The Daz content (installed via DIM) has separate metadata files - did you have everything checked in the reimport dialogue or only the user data?

  • I'm not sure, but possibly only the user data :(
  • Try again, checking the big list of product data too (there's a check-box at the top which will select all, you don't have to do it item by item).

  • Excellet. My data is restored! Alas, however, DS still crashed when I tried to edit the DB. The way it is is much better than having almost no smart content, but I really like creating custom categories and using metadata in the SmartContent pane.
