Inactive Geograft?

Is it possible to make a geograft item (anatomy, etc...) inactive?

I'm trying to keep the geograft in the scene without deleting it.  I can make it invisible, but it leaves a hole in the model.

It seems the only way to restore the hole is to delete the geograft, but I don't want to delete it.

Any suggestions?
