Issues with database

I am right now having a couple issues with my database.

The initial one is that DAZ Studio takes several minutes (sometimes close to 10) to load the CMS. I am not sure how to fix this but I don't remembering having that long of a load before (I have just started doing art again after a couple year break)

My other main issue is that I have catagorized older files (including .cr2, .pz2, and .ds files) in a custom part of my content library (I don't use the default tree). Unfortunatly all of the files also show up  in the uncatagorized part of the default tree. If I remove one of the files from one of two things happens, either one of them is removed (but comes back right after I search for content), or both are removed and they both come back. I try to avoid smart content as I have numerous old files that I really don't want to make a product for each (and it is less convienent for me to use). I have tried resetting the database and that removed my duplicate .duf files.

I am unsure what I need to do, but I really don't want to have to sort my entire library again.

Are you using Zone Alarm?

I am not using zonealarm, currently I am running Avast. The CMS loading time reduced when I did a fresh install on my video driver or when I reset the database (I did both of them while I was typing my last message)
