Best Machine for Daz Animation?

What would be the optimal rig for Daz Studio animation? Mac or PC? I'm a Mac person but perhaps PC's would offer more bang for buck and more Cuda card options.

Without a doubt the best machine for the money will be a self-build PC 6th generation quad code i5 or quad core i7 that you can use DD4 RAM in and at 2 nVidia or AMD video cards too. You should be able to easily build such a PC for under $1000 if you use the 970 nVidia card(s).

If you can tolerate 16GB RAM maximum you can buy a pre-build ASUS PC 6th Gen quad core i5 with 16GB DDR4 RAM and 1TB HHD for about $350. Another $150 gets you a nVidia 970 video card add on. On Amazon is the easiest place to find that price. That's a good deal, you'd be hard pressed to find a more capable used PC or Mac that could do what that machine could do for less or more money.

You can always wait a bit for the better nVidia Titan cards to become cheaper, if ever, or the good news is that the AMD ProRender has been made open source so that in a year's time you are much more likely to have better render options available using AMD video cards and from many more different types of rendering SW than just DAZ Studio. It would be nice to set up a model with a set of textures and materials in DAZ Studio using AMD ProRender and then have that model look the same in Unity or Blender or Carrara using the AMD ProRenderer for example.

Thanks for the input. I'll start researching those option. I'm running Daz 4.8 on a 2008 era mac tower with two nvidia 680 cards and an external power supply.
